Forensic Medicine is medical specialty which deals with the application of medical knowledge in administration of justice. The department is providing training in the subject specialty of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology for the undergraduate students of III year BNYS degree. Currently 60 undergraduate students are pursuing Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. We teach Medico Legal cases, Medical Ethics, Professional Negligence, Forensic Pathology, Forensic Traumatology, Sexual Jurisprudence, Forensic Psychiatry and Medical Toxicology. It is equipped with departmental museum, library, a spacious laboratory with modern equipments and instruments.

It conducts regular seminars for students. It also shoulders the responsibility of taking lectures for students on Medicolegal aspects. It is also providing practical classes in Medicolegal duties like post-mortem examination and Medicolegal examination in Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai.
